Parent Coaching

Overview

What is a Parent Coach? A parent coach is one who works with parents to help them achieve their desired goals for their family. I coach parents to focus on themselves first as we explore their family history, attachment style, and values around communication, discipline, and parental roles.

We then look at the automatic triggers (stimuli that elicit reactions) for parents and kids that cause emotional dysregulation.  How were these stimuli formed? How old are they? What is the underlying belief behind the triggers?

Working with kids and parents together in the therapy room, we problem solve the most difficult interactions and create a path for change.  This plan includes a parenting toolbox of strategies customized for your family.

Parent Coaching can help with:
– Attachment
– Building Trust
– Communication
– Parental Self-Care
– Single Parenting
– Emotional Regulation
– Communication

"Does anybody have a map? I don't know if you can tell but this is me just pretending to know.
So where's the map? I need a clue ‘cause the scary truth is I'm flying blind.
And I'm making this up as I go."
